Kota Kinabalu There are many PADI Speciality Courses with the PADI system of education and we have listed below some of our most popular that are specifically suited to our environment. The purpose of the PADI Specialty Diver courses is to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards for various special-interest areas in diving.

Achieving PADI Specialty ratings can take 1 or 2 days but this is all hands-on, so you’ll be diving right from the start as you aim for the ultimate in recreational scuba diving – PADI Master Scuba Diver Rating. Get five specialty ratings and you’re on your way to becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver (MSD), the highest level of PADI’s non professional certifications – interested?? Then take the Master Scuba Diver Challenge!

Next to the speciality course title you will see the number of dives included within the speciality, for speciality training we conduct 2 dives per day. If during your PADI Advanced Course you completed one of these dives it can be credited towards your speciality course therefore reducing the time and and cost of the course.

AWARE Shark Conservation Diver Distinct Speciality

The AWARE Shark Conservation Diver Distinct Speciality turns divers and non-divers into informed, passionate shark defenders who can spring into action to protect them. Method of Assessment

Knowledge mastery is assessed using Knowledge Reviews. Skills mastery is assessed by student demonstration of skill proficiency.

Promotion

We are offering the Master Scuba Diver (MSD) application for FREE. To complete MSD, in addition to the five speciality certs, you must be a PADI Rescue Diver. Each of these speciality courses can be an elective dive during the advanced course.

Important Information

Pre-requisites:

  • Minimum age differs based on PADI Specialty Diver course – get more details from our Downbelow travel Centre.
  • For PADI scuba diving courses refer to the Fit to Dive form.

NOTE:

  • According to our current PADI Flying After Diving guidelines – it is highly advised you should not go to altitude (this includes flying and climbing) within 18 hours when doing multiple dives. This means that the day after your diving program you can take a flight after 0930 hrs in the morning. Or you can choose to not take part in the afternoon dive and therefore take a flight after 0600 hrs in the morning the following day. Please note that since all our courses / programs last a full day there will be no refund offered for missed dives since you have the option to stay on the island or enjoy snorkelling and trekking activities.
