Re-opening of Mount Kinabalu Summit – Low’s Peak for New Year 2016!

All of Sabah, and the world, are looking forward to the re-opening of Mount Kinabalu Summit Low’s Peak for New Year 2016!

Mount Kinabalu, fully restored to its former glory in the same year as an earthquake devastated its Timpohon trail!

It would be amazing to have the iconic national landmark, Mount Kinabalu, fully restored to its former glory in the same year as an earthquake devastated its Timpohon trail. The plan is to complete all safety procedures for climbers to be able to complete the previous 2D1N standard climb from Kinabalu National Park; as for now, the safest option is the 2D1N climb to the Laban Rata plateau, and many of our Downbelow guests are also adding the 2D1N via ferrata teaser experience to their program for an added thrill!

However we fully anticipate that the summit trail will be open by 1st December 2015 – and back to its former glory, wait … we hear its improved for 2016 with some amazing scenic new trails! Contact Downbelow’s Sabah Travel Centre for more information to climb to the ‘Roof of Borneo’ once again!
